The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Paolo Mac.

McKennedy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Some bone on bone action there as Paolo Mac checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Paolo Mac steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from McKennedy. That one must have hurt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Paolo Mac rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McKennedy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McKennedy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Paolo Mac crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from McKennedy - the referee stops the clock and Paolo Mac gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says McKennedy. Paolo Mac manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
McKennedy closes the distance and clinches up with Paolo Mac, looking for a takedown. McKennedy pushes Paolo Mac against the cage but Paolo Mac circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown by McKennedy or perhaps it was just good defense by Paolo Mac which made him look bad.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


McKennedy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McKennedy.

McKennedy bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

McKennedy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Paolo Mac knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McKennedy on the ground.
McKennedy throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Paolo Mac because McKennedy loaded up on that one.
McKennedy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I would just about give that final round to Corey McKennedy.
Well McKennedy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
