Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yamada Taiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Harris might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kanye West - Jesus Walks. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yamada Taiki! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Taiki takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Yamada Taiki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taiki throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Harris circles away from the clinch attempt.
Taiki throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Harris. Harris on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Taiki. Taiki obviously looking to wear him down.
Taiki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Harris lunges at Taiki with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Taiki's hand. Taiki scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A combination from Taiki does no damage. Harris gets a clinch. Harris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Harris avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Harris avoids the head kick by Taiki.
Harris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Taiki sprawls well initially but Harris persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Harris seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taiki desperately trying to maintain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris is thwarting Taiki's attempts to control the position. Harris is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Taiki has one foot on Harris's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Taiki throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Taiki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Harris tries to clinch but Taiki moves out of range. Harris tried to score with a low kick but Taiki checks it. Harris blocks a low kick nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Harris's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Harris duly obliges. An inside leg kick lands from Taiki. Harris slips a jab from Taiki. Taiki throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Taiki throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Taiki throws a left and a right that both miss
and Harris counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Harris walks forward, straight into a front kick from Taiki. Harris getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Harris ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Taiki misses with a body punch
and Harris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Harris. Taiki trying to land knees to the body.

Harris blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Taiki putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Harris in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Taiki landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Harris is breathing heavily. Taiki throws a knee to the head but misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris managing to block the knees to the body from Taiki.

Harris tightens his grip and picks Taiki up, before dumping him to the ground. Taiki manages to land in guard. Harris trying to control the position from guard on top but Taiki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Harris missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Taiki working a defensive guard here.
Harris trying to control but Taiki is working from the bottom. Taiki looking for a sweep. Not yet Taiki, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris drops back looking for a leg! Taiki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Taiki manages to kick Harris off! Harris jumps back into Taiki's guard. Harris pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Taiki is keeping the position for now.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A leg kick checked by Harris. Taiki scores with a sloppy right hand. Harris should have avoided that one. Harris uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Taiki has time to react. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harris tries to clinch up but Taiki circles away and keeps his distance. Harris lands with a cross. Taiki looks to land a body kick but Harris moved away. Taiki misses with a double jab
and Harris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yamada Taiki dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Taiki pushes Harris away with a front kick. Taiki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harris paws at him with a jab and circles away. Taiki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harris was well out of range. Poor timing from Taiki. Taiki throws a nice outside leg kick. Harris checks the leg kick. Taiki thows a leg kick but Harris checks it so Harris counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Harris cracks Taiki with a solid left hand. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Harris accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Harris is looking to work some ground and pound but Taiki has wrist control. Harris trying to control but Taiki is working from the bottom. Taiki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Taiki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harris is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Taiki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Harris, into his guard. Harris being controlled here, momentarily. Harris is trying to keep Taiki in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Harris looking for a sweep. Not yet Harris, not yet. Harris has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Taiki is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Harris. Taiki stands up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Taiki, as that shot connected.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taiki throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Taiki closes the distance but Harris moves to the side and Harris counters by moving into the clinch. Taiki throws a knee to the head but misses.

Harris has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Taiki clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Taiki preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Harris. Harris punches the canvas rather than the man. Taiki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Harris struggling to land strikes to the head as Taiki covers up. Harris tries to keep control of the position but Taiki is staying busy. Harris is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Taiki has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taiki is keeping busy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Taiki trying to control but not successfully. Harris is controlling the position but Taiki somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Harris wants to advance to full mount but Taiki doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Taiki can do anything to dispel that myth. Harris wants to pass the guard but Taiki is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Yamada Taiki will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
A head kick misses from Taiki. Taiki thows a body kick. Harris tries to catch it but that hurt him. Taiki throws a head kick but Harris moves out of range.

and Harris counters with a nice uppercut. Harris fails with an attempt to clinch.
Harris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Harris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Taiki looks to score with a jab to the body but Harris is just out of range. Taiki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Harris takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Taiki scores with a leg kick.
Taiki explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Taiki is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Harris rather than just go for the knockout. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Taiki throws a sloppy head kick and Harris counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Taiki's guard now. Harris preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taiki has his feet on Harris's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Harris slips under a jab from Taiki. Harris ducks right into an uppercut from Taiki. Harris fails in his attempt to clinch. A kick lands to the mid section there for Taiki. Taiki turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Harris will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Taiki lands with a nice combination. Harris backs away looking to recover. Taiki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yamada Taiki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Taiki throws a half hearted mid kick. Taiki wants to land a leg kick but Harris is out of range. Taiki throws a head kick that misses. Harris misses with a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taiki throws a series of punches but Harris moves out of range. Taiki stuns Harris with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. This has been an exciting period of action! Harris uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Taiki. Taiki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Harris moves away. Taiki tries to clinch but Harris moves away and Harris counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Taiki wants to get back to his feet. Paul Harris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Harris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Taiki is just riding it out for now. Harris eventually gives up the hold. Harris tries to pass the half guard into mount. Taiki knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris seems to be looking for submissions.
Taiki preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Harris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Taiki is just riding it out for now. Harris eventually gives up the hold. Taiki wants to get back to full guard. Paul Harris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Harris seems to be working for a kimura but Taiki defends the submission attempt. Harris passes the guard and advances to mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taiki tries to hold on but Harris postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Yamada Taiki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Taiki winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
