Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yunel Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Sayre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sayre has chosen A Country Boy Can Survive as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yunel Martinez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Teddy Sayre! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sayre swings for the body but Martinez moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Martinez looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sayre gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Martinez to score an easy takedown into full guard. Martinez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sayre dives on top into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martinez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Sayre seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Sayre's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sayre avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Martinez is pulling down on Sayre's head to control his posture. Martinez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sayre wants to control from the top but Martinez keeps moving. Martinez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sayre defends it easily. Sayre trying to control but Martinez is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Martinez trying to keep a closed guard but Sayre is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Martinez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sayre defends it nicely. Sayre throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Martinez. Sayre throws a series of strikes that have Martinez backpedaling.
Sayre stuffs the takedown attempt from Martinez. Martinez gets slowly back to his feet. Martinez fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yunel Martinez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sayre throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Martinez. Martinez misses with a takedown attempt - Sayre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A right-left combo lands from Sayre. A nice combination there by Sayre.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martinez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sayre tries to avoid it but Martinez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sayre to the ground. Sayre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Martinez is breathing heavily. A nice inside leg kick there by Sayre. That's going to slow Martinez down. Sayre will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Martinez fails in his attempt to clinch. Sayre rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Martinez moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sayre throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Martinez's head. Martinez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sayre swivels and escapes. Sayre clinches. Sayre pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Martinez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sayre. Teddy Sayre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sayre fails to land with a series of punches.
Sayre rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Martinez moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sayre scores with a jab. Sayre fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sayre is looking to clinch but Martinez is avoiding it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sayre feints and then cracks Martinez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Martinez down. Sayre's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Sayre duly obliges. Sayre moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Nice cross by Sayre. Martinez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Martinez throws a leg kick and Sayre counters with a nice uppercut. No joy there for Sayre, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sayre throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Sayre is working the combinations to good effect here. Sayre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martinez circles away quickly and effectively. Sayre throws a series of strikes that have Martinez backpedaling.
Martinez shoots in but Sayre avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sayre stalks Martinez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Martinez's face. Martinez staggers backwards, shaken. Sayre throws a leg kick which misses Martinez's front leg but catches the back leg as Martinez tries to avoid it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Martinez tries to clinch up and Sayre cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Teddy Sayre dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Martinez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Martinez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Martinez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Sayre is squirming around, avoiding Martinez's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez avoids the attempt from Sayre to control. Sayre tries to get back to half guard but can't. Martinez jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sayre is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sayre and Martinez has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Martinez landing strikes. Martinez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Martinez working away. Martinez tries for a kimura but Sayre is defending well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sayre holds on to Martinez's head and controls the position momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martinez trying to control the action but Sayre is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sayre swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sayre dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Martinez. That did some damage! Sayre lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Martinez backs up against the cage.
A combination from Sayre does no damage. Yunel Martinez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Martinez shoots in for a takedown but Sayre shows good takedown defense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sayre thuds his right hand into Martinez's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Sayre moves into the clinch. Sayre manages to break the clinch.
Sayre scores with a nice head shot. Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch but Sayre swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Martinez fails with the takedown. Sayre scores with a one two! Martinez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Sayre cracks Martinez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Sayre lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sayre lands a lovely overhand right. Martinez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sayre avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yunel Martinez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Good exchange - Sayre coming out on top. Sayre throws a series of strikes that have Martinez backpedaling.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Martinez. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Teddy Sayre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Martinez takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Martinez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sayre but Sayre pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sayre lands a two punch combo.
A punch combination from Sayre misses. Sayre uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Martinez has time to react. Martinez wants to clinch and Sayre counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Martinez is lucky that one didn't land flush. Martinez misses with a takedown and Sayre counters with a stiff right hand. Sayre drives through and clinches with Martinez against the cage.

Sayre lands on the inside with an uppercut. Sayre gets through Martinez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Martinez looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sayre lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Sayre scores with an uppercut up the middle. Sayre lands a right hand that snaps the head of Martinez backwards. Sayre working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Martinez is trying to drag Sayre to the mat but Sayre just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Sayre stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A shot in the inside from Sayre. Sayre's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sayre defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Martinez. Sayre scores with a head kick.

Sayre goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Sayre throws a combination. Martinez tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Sayre moves into the clinch. Sayre escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Sayre has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. A short right from Sayre. Sayre breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Martinez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sayre's waist but Sayre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martinez off to one side. Yunel Martinez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sayre moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Sayre stuffs the takedown attempt from Martinez. Martinez gets slowly back to his feet. Teddy Sayre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sayre lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Sayre tests Martinez's chin there with a solid looking shot. Sayre looks to land a combination but Martinez avoids it well. A right-left combo lands from Sayre. Sayre darts in and clinches Martinez up against the cage. Sayre throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Martinezs head. Sayre breaks the clinch.

Sayre scores with a punch to the head. Sayre lands a head kick. Martinez smiles back at him and beckons him forward. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Martinez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Martinez tries to keep at a distance but Sayre has taken the fight into the clinch. Martinez letting Sayre take a breather here. Sayre pushes Martinez back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Teddy Sayre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Sayre winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
