Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hideaki Katsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flauterio Toglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toglas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bodies kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Flauterio Toglas told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideaki Katsu! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Flauterio Toglas! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Toglas throws a right and a left that both miss. Katsu shoots in looking for a takedown. Toglas tries to sprawl out of it but Katsu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Toglas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Toglas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Katsu's head backwards. Toglas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Toglas tries to bum rush Katsu with a series of wild strikes but Katsu uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Toglas looks to land a combination but Katsu avoids it well. Flauterio Toglas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Toglas stalks Katsu and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Katsu's face. Katsu staggers backwards, shaken. Good work by Katsu as he checks the leg kick. Toglas throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

That's one minute gone in the round. Toglas throws a series of punches but Katsu avoids them all with ease. Katsu takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Toglas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Toglas pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Katsu checks the leg kick. Katsu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Toglas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Katsu goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Toglas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Katsu but great work by Toglas. Toglas wants to stand but Katsu has his arm trapped. Toglas wants to control but Katsu is keeping him busy. Toglas working away. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Toglas misses with a few strikes there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Katsu shoots in for a takedown but Toglas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Katsu tries to clinch but Toglas is having none of it. Toglas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A punch combination from Toglas misses. A head kick misses from Toglas. Toglas tries to bum rush Katsu with a series of wild strikes but Katsu uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Katsu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Toglas is fending him off so far but Katsu persists. Nope, Toglas circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hideaki Katsu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Toglas slaps away a takedown attempt from Katsu, before circling back to the center of the mat. Katsu fails with a takedown attempt. It looks like Hideaki Katsu has been cut. Toglas tries to work over Katsu's front leg with a kick but Katsu checks it. Katsu with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Toglas to score with a decent uppercut. Flauterio Toglas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Some bone on bone action there as Katsu checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Jab by Toglas. Toglas misses with the combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Katsu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Toglas's half guard. Katsu wants to work for an arm triangle but Toglas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Toglas wants to control but Katsu is keeping busy.

No, Toglas has escaped the position, nice work there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Katsu swings around for an armbar but Toglas sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Katsu's guard. Toglas trying to control but Katsu is working from the bottom. Toglas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Katsu is proving hard to escape from. Toglas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Katsu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Toglas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Katsu has Toglas in his guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Toglas is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
