Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Buvaisar Saitiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and GEORGES STPIERRE (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saitiev comes to the cage accompanied by Gimme Shelter Rolling stones. STPIERRE has chosen LOSE YOURSELF as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buvaisar Saitiev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, GEORGES STPIERRE!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
STPIERRE lands a body shot.
Saitiev tries to clinch there but STPIERRE circles away.
Saitiev swings away with a body shot that misses
and STPIERRE counters with an inside leg kick.

Saitiev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
STPIERRE wants to control but Saitiev is keeping busy and won't allow it.
STPIERRE tries to roll over but Saitiev keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saitiev slips a nice elbow through STPIERRE's hands, connecting with STPIERRE's forehead.
Saitiev lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
STPIERRE holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Saitiev perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

STPIERRE wants to improve his position but Saitiev is controlling well.
STPIERRE is trying to control but Saitiev manages to pass to mount!

Saitiev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. STPIERRE swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Buvaisar Saitiev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Saitiev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Saitiev is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Saitiev stands and throws STPIERRE's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Saitiev lands a decent elbow from side control.
STPIERRE wants to get back to his feet but Saitiev drags him back down.
STPIERRE takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
A lull in the action here as Saitiev stalls from top position.

STPIERRE being controlled for a moment.
STPIERRE is working to avoid the ground and pound but Saitiev connects with a decent elbow.
Saitiev wants to control but STPIERRE is keeping him busy.

A lull in the action here as Saitiev stalls from top position.
STPIERRE is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Saitiev cracks STPIERRE with a big right hand but STPIERRE just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Saitiev lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear STPIERRE down.
Saitiev wants to lay and pray for a moment but STPIERRE keeps working.
STPIERRE is letting Saitiev control him for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Saitiev shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in STPIERRE's guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Buvaisar Saitiev just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Saitiev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

STPIERRE takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Saitiev seems to be working for a kimura but STPIERRE defends the submission attempt.

STPIERRE has hold of Saitiev's hands but Saitiev slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
STPIERRE is in trouble now - Saitiev has advanced to mount!
Saitiev is landing with some decent strikes but STPIERRE is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Saitiev pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

BOOM! Saitiev connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Saitiev tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Saitiev lands a big shot there that rocks STPIERRE but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
STPIERRE takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Saitiev's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
