Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Muhammad Lawal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Glenn Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawal takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Lawal closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lawal lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Edwards wants to control but Lawal is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Edwards might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lawal kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Edwards is trying to get back to full guard.
Lawal looks to land a strike but Edwards avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lawal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lawal works over Edwards with some ground and pound from guard.
Lawal wants to control from the top but Edwards keeps moving.
Lawal trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lawal controlling from the top position.
Lawal throwing strikes from guard but Edwards blocks nicely.
Lawal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Edwards works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lawal throws a strike but Edwards rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Edwards works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lawal is refusing to be controlled, as Edwards sits in half guard.
Lawal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Edwards content to control rather than advance.
Edwards is stalling here. Lawal is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Edwards seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lawal has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lawal working away.
Lawal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lawal lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Edwards down.
Lawal slows the pace down.
Lawal throwing shots but missing, from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Muhammad Lawal will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Edwards chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Edwards lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Edwards fakes the leg kick and cracks Lawal in the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Edwards closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Lawal takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Edwards lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Edwards lands a big head kick that sends Lawal to the canvas! Edwards follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glenn Edwards!
