Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lennox Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MCJ Guti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MCJ Guti will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lennox Karelin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, MCJ Guti! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karelin on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. MCJ Guti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guti lands a head kick!
Guti tries for a takedown but Karelin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No joy there for Karelin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Guti on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Guti shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Karelin pinned against the cage. Karelin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Karelin stuffs the takedown. Lennox Karelin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of MCJ Guti. Nice cross by Karelin. Karelin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Karelin throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Karelin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Guti closes the distance and clinches up with Karelin, looking for a takedown. Guti pushes Karelin against the cage but Karelin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Guti shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Karelin but Karelin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Guti shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karelin is trying to stand back up but Guti is controlling him
Karelin taking some punishment here, with Guti in his half guard. Karelin has one foot on Guti's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Karelin misses with a straight left. Karelin is breathing heavily. Karelin misses with a two punch combination.

Lennox Karelin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Karelin misses with a hook. Karelin slaps away a takedown attempt from Guti, before circling back to the center of the mat. Karelin stuffs the takedown attempt from Guti. Guti gets slowly back to his feet. Karelin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Guti fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Karelin works Guti's body with a nice hook. Karelin lands a jab to the nose. Guti dodges the punch combination from Karelin.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guti looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Guti closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Guti lands in his opponent's guard. Guti trying to control the position from guard on top but Karelin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Guti postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Karelin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Guti, into his guard. Guti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guti working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Karelin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Karelin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Karelin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Guti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Karelin defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guti trying to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Karelin gets to his feet - Guti follows without any prompting. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but MCJ Guti will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Karelin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Guti scores with a takedown into Karelin's guard. Guti sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Karelin's guard. Karelin tries to kick Guti off but Guti keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guti scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Karelin pushes Guti off looking to stand but Guti dives back in and keeps control.
Guti is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Karelin has managed to free his arm - good work. Guti maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Karelin could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Guti has cracked it and Karelin is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Guti!
