Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ted Chips! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fedor Mclovin! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mclovin throws a push kick but Chips slaps the foot to one side. Chips tries for a takedown but Mclovin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mclovin throws the kick towards the body but Chips avoids it. Chips shoots in looking for a takedown. Mclovin tries to sprawl out of it but Chips keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mclovin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. No luck for Chips with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Chips. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice takedown defense from Mclovin. No joy for Chips on that attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chips will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Chips crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mclovin - the referee stops the clock and Chips gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mclovin. Chips manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Chips shoots in and drives through. Mclovin sprawls well. Mclovin tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice takedown defense from Mclovin. No joy for Chips on that attempt. Mclovin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mclovin wanted to stand there but Chips had control of the position. Chips preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Chips lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mclovin! Chips landing shots from mount. BOOM! Chips connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Chips throws some wild stikes that Mclovin manages to avoid easily.
Mclovin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mclovin is looking to get to half guard. Mclovin is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mclovin holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Chips tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Mclovin is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
BOOM! Chips connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mclovin really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Chips sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Chips thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Chips postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mclovin looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ted Chips will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Chips shoots and misses and Mclovin counters with a right hand to the body. Mclovin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mclovin is pressing down on Chips's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chips is holding on for now. Chips trying to hold on to Mclovin's head to control him but Mclovin postures up.
Chips on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Mclovin works his way into side control. Mclovin in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Chips is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
