Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jason McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson pivots, looking for a leg kick but McDonald is out of range and Jackson settles back down.

Jackson rushes McDonald and presses him up against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, McDonald just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jackson's brow.
McDonald is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
McDonald tries to pull guard but Jackson won't allow it.
McDonald fails to pull the fight into his guard.
McDonald tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Shane Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason McDonald.
McDonald tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jackson just stands there and leans against the cage.
McDonald is looking to control Jackson's arms but Jackson gets an underhook and turns him. Now McDonald has his back to the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson lands with a short punch from the clinch.
McDonald wants a takedown but no success here.
Jackson dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
McDonald is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jackson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
McDonald is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McDonald struggles to land a body shot inside as Jackson controls his hands.
McDonald tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jackson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Jackson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McDonald!

Jackson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McDonald manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Jackson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
McDonald is not content to let Jackson control the position.
Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McDonald really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
McDonald tries to improve position but can't.
McDonald tries to control but Jackson manages to take his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McDonald trying to control the hands but Jackson won't let him.
Jackson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for McDonald.
Jackson cracks McDonald with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing McDonald from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
McDonald wants to escape the position.

Jackson has managed to slip his arm under McDonald's chin. This could be all over... yep, McDonald is tapping out! Submission win for Jackson.
