Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Durell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bomani El Hazad! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! El Hazad moves away from the strike by Durell. Durell throws a shot from downtown. El Hazad moves away and avoids it. El Hazad fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Durell, pushing him back against the cage. El Hazad tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Durell just stands there and leans against the cage. El Hazad escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
El Hazad steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Durell. Durell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from El Hazad. The fight moves into the clinch position. El Hazad breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

El Hazad has a takedown stuffed. Michael Durell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bomani El Hazad. Durell takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. El Hazad steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Durell. Durell slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. El Hazad moves into the clinch.

Durell has had enough of the clinch but El Hazad keeps him there for the moment. El Hazad's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Durell just misses with a punch to the body.
Durell misses with a straight left. Durell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but El Hazad manages to avoid it. Durell connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. El Hazad displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Durell throws out the jab. El Hazad shoots in looking for a takedown. Durell tries to sprawl out of it but El Hazad keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Durell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Michael Durell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from El Hazad. Durell throws an overhand right that lands on El Hazad's shoulder, as El Hazad tries to avoid the shot. Danga de danga de dang - Durell scores with a four punch combination! Durell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Durell.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Durell throws a big shot that misses. El Hazad moves into range and clinches up with Durell. El Hazad wants a takedown but no success here.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. El Hazad drops down looking for an ankle pick but Durell pulls his leg out and moves away.

El Hazad misses with a takedown attempt - Durell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Durell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Durell. El Hazad shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Durell defends it nicely. Durell leaves El Hazad with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Durell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Durell connects with a right hand. El Hazad shakes it off. A combination from Durell does no damage. Durell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract El Hazad. Durell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Durell is breathing heavily. El Hazad moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. El Hazad closes the distance and pushes Durell back into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. El Hazad taking a breather. El Hazad tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Durell just stands there and leans against the cage. El Hazad drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Durell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
El Hazad has Durell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Durell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. El Hazad is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Durell pulls him back up using the underhooks. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. El Hazad breaks from the clinch.
El Hazad rushes Durell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Durell. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Durell dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. El Hazad breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Durell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by El Hazad. El Hazad tries to score a power double leg takedown but Durell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten El Hazad somewhat. El Hazad closes the distance and clinches up with Durell, looking for a takedown. El Hazad pushes Durell against the cage but Durell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Michael Durell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bomani El Hazad. Durell just misses with a punch to the body.

Durell takes a swing at El Hazad's ribcage but misses. Durell avoids a lazy jab quite easily. El Hazad walks into a left hand. El Hazad drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Durell misses with a straight right. El Hazad fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. El Hazad shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Durell as he jumps to the side. El Hazad is trying desperately to land a takedown but Durell is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for El Hazad. That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Durell preventing the sweep. Durell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Durell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of El Hazad is proving hard to escape from. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if El Hazad can do anything to dispel that myth. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as El Hazad holds on and takes a little breather. El Hazad has his foot on Durell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Durell works his way back into a safe position though. Durell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of El Hazad is proving hard to escape from. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. El Hazad pushes Durell off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Durell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but El Hazad moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bomani El Hazad will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

El Hazad pulls Durell in close to his closed guard and prevents Durell from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. El Hazad has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Durell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. El Hazad pulls Durell in close to prevent any damage. El Hazad looking to hit a scissor sweep but Durell is one step ahead there. El Hazad wants to stand up but Durell is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durell stopping the sweep attempt from El Hazad.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Durell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Durell misses the shot to the body. A telegraphed right hand from Durell misses the target. A slow jab from Durell misses its intended target. A combination from Durell does no damage. El Hazad fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Durell, pushing him back against the cage. El Hazad tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Durell just stands there and leans against the cage. El Hazad fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Durell is looking to break free of the clinch but El Hazad has double underhooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Durell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. El Hazad stalling in the clinch.

El Hazad has Durell pressed against the cage, preventing Durell from circling away and getting back to striking at range. El Hazad has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Durell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. El Hazad looking for a takedown. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! El Hazad's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Durell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Durell tries to keep at a distance but El Hazad has taken the fight into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Bomani El Hazad comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think El Hazad has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
