Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brett Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Callaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carwin comes to the cage accompanied by target=blank>5FDP. Marc Callaway is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Carwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marc Callaway! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Callaway is looking to clinch but Carwin is avoiding it.
Callaway tries to close the distance and clinch but Carwin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Carwin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carwin has taken the fight to the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Callaway.
Callaway turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Callaway manages to end up in side control. Callaway decides to take the fight back to the feet. Callaway showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carwin.
Carwin instigates a clinch. Callaway escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Callaway stuffs the takedown attempt from Carwin. Carwin gets slowly back to his feet. Carwin misses the shot to the body. Callaway tries to clinch up and Carwin counters by clinching up. Callaway tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Carwin avoids it. Carwin tries a body shot but Callaway blocks it.
Callaway breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Callaway tries to clinch up and Carwin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Callaway's guard. Callaway manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carwin manages to get himself to full guard.
Callaway postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Carwin wants to sweep here but Callaway controlling him for the moment. Callaway has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Carwin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Callaway throws a big right hand that misses. Callaway with a flurry of punches that miss. Carwin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Callaway. Carwin throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
Callaway gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Carwin moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carwin stalling in the clinch.
Carwin is breathing heavily. Carwin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Callaway.
Callaway throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Carwins head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carwin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Callaway lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Brett Carwin has been cut. Callaway has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Carwin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Callaway smiles and moves away.
Carwin slaps away a takedown attempt from Callaway, before circling back to the center of the mat. Marc Callaway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Callaway wants to clinch and Carwin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Carwin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Carwin has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Callaway keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Callaway flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Carwin moves to the back position. Callaway trying to control the hands but Carwin breaks the grip. Callaway tries to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Callaway is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Carwin gets his way!
I really don't envy Callaway right now.
Callaway turns into Carwin and is now in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Callaway trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Callaway accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Callaway throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Callaway wants to stand but Carwin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Carwin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Callaway gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Callaway would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brett Carwin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Brett Carwin's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Callaway tries to clinch but fails miserably and Carwin counters with a shoot takedown. Callaway fights it but they end up in guard. Callaway trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Carwin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Callaway's guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Callaway manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Callaway throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Callaway tries to strike from the bottom.
Carwin wants to control from the top but Callaway keeps moving. Callaway wants to sweep here but Carwin controlling him for the moment. Callaway throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Carwin stands and throws Callaway's legs to the side, diving into side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Callaway is not content to let Carwin control the position. Callaway tries to bench press Carwin off him but Carwin keeps the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Carwin lands with a kick to the ribs.
Carwin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Callaway but Callaway pushes him off and we're back to square one. Callaway clinches up with Carwin and pushes him back against the cage. Callaway gets a trip takedown into half guard. Carwin is refusing to be controlled, as Callaway sits in half guard. Carwin tries to roll over but Callaway keeps him under control. Callaway working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carwin is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Carwin manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Callaway is looking to stand up but Carwin won't let him. Callaway is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Callaway wants to control from the top but Carwin keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Callaway tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Carwin counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Callaway flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Callaway tries to get to full guard but Carwin has control of the leg. Carwin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Carwin is going to stand back up.
Carwin wants to pass the guard but Callaway is defending well. Callaway has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carwin is working away from the top position though. Carwin wants to control but Callaway is keeping him busy. Callaway flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carwin fails with the takedown and Callaway moves into the clinch. Callaway lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Callaway creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Carwin breaks the clinch.
Carwin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Callaway is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carwin defends well. Carwin stands up over Callaway, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Callaway is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Carwin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Callaway throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Carwin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Callaway's half guard. Callaway is looking to improve his position.
Callaway has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carwin is working away from the top position though. Callaway taking some punishment here, with Carwin in his half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carwin trying to mount his opponent but Callaway defends it. Carwin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carwin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Callaway looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Callaway trying to hold on to Carwin's head to control him but Carwin postures up.

Callaway kicks Carwin off and gets back to his feet. Carwin has his takedown stuffed and Callaway holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Callaway makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Carwin jumps into guard, dragging Callaway to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carwin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Callaway stands up over Carwin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Callaway trying to control the position from guard on top but Carwin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Callaway being controlled here momentarily. Carwin takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Callaway closes the distance and clinches. Callaway wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Callaway is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Carwin is defending well for now. Carwin is working for takedown but Callaway is calmly controlling the position for now. Carwin trying to land knees to the body.
Carwin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Callaway uses from the top position. Marc Callaway has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Carwin wants to sweep but no luck. Callaway working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Brett Carwin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Carwin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Callaway's guard. Carwin looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that's the end of the fight! Brett Carwin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carwin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
