Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johny Brawo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patryck Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brawo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Toony - Los (Feat. Pih & Fabuła) . Patryck Mendes told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johny Brawo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patryck Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brawo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brawo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mendes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mendes bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Brawo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brawo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mendes pinned against the cage. Mendes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mendes instigates a clinch.
Brawo has had enough of the clinch but Mendes keeps him there for the moment.
Mendes manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Brawo won't allow Mendes to get back to his feet.
Mendes is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Mendes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brawo defends it easily.
Mendes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brawo's guard.

Mendes is standing up over Brawo. Brawo looks to escape but Mendes dives into side control.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Brawo leaves Mendes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Brawo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Mendes counters with a single leg into guard. Brawo didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mendes is trying to control Brawo's posture but Brawo avoids it.
Brawo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mendes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mendes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Brawo, up you get!

Brawo tries to clinch up
and Mendes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Brawo tries to pull guard but Mendes won't allow it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johny Brawo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mendes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brawo gets caught flat footed, as Mendes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brawo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mendes postures up in Brawo's guard and throws a big left but Brawo blocks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mendes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Mendes slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mendes stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Brawo to get to his feet.

Patryck Mendes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mendes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
