Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trent Chapel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kelvin Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chapel comes to the cage accompanied by Madsen - Nitro. Parker comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Armin Van Buren - Sail kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kelvin Parker! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Parker showed some decent athleticism there. Chapel holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Chapel is looking for a sweep. Parker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Chapel is trying is best to control the position here. Chapel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Parker is working away from the top position though. Chapel is doing well to control the position and prevent Parker from advancing to side control. Parker seems to be working for a kimura but Chapel defends the submission attempt. Parker is pressing down on Chapel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chapel is holding on for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Chapel feints and as Parker raises his hands in defense, Chapel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Parker is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Chapel is taking a break and basically stalling. Chapel has control of Parker's left arm, preventing Parker from doing any damage. Chapel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Parker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chapel moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Chapel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Chapel uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Parker. The fight stays on the outside here - Chapel looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Chapel's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Chapel creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Parker blocks a body shot from Chapel. Parker blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Parker takes an elbow to the temple. Kelvin Parker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A head punch on the inside from Chapel fails to land. Chapel lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Parker or not. Parker blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Chapel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Parker fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Chapel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Parker napping and manages to drive through into side control! Parker is trying to control Chapel's posture but Chapel avoids it. A bit of a lull in the action here. Chapel avoids the strikes from the bottom by Parker. Chapel looks up at the clock and then as Parker takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chapel smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that's the end of the fight! Trent Chapel showed his dominance in that final round. Well Chapel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
