Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Whitelock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitelock avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Whitelock rushes Kelly and presses him up against the cage.
Kelly's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kelly throws a series of punches but Whitelock moves out of range.
Kelly looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kelly misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Whitelock circles away from the clinch attempt
and Whitelock counters by moving into the clinch.
Kelly tries to circle away but Whitelock has him pinned against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Whitelock pulls guard effortlessly.
Whitelock wants to stand but Kelly is controlling the position.
Kelly would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Kelly thows a big elbow that misses.
Whitelock is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kelly is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Whitelock has an active guard here but Kelly has managed to pass into half guard.
Whitelock won't allow Kelly to pass to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kelly moves into the clinch.
Whitelock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kelly closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Whitelock did well to prevent Kelly getting side control.

Whitelock tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Kelly manages to move to mount!
Whitelock tries to lock up and control but Kelly gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kelly tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kelly working for a submission but Whitelock is keeping him at bay.
Whitelock is wriggling around trying to escape.

Whitelock trying to punch from the bottom. They're landing but they're really not going to hurt Kelly.
Kelly stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Kelly is breathing heavily.
Whitelock stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whitelock wants it to stay on the feet.
Kelly tries to close the distance and clinch but Whitelock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Whitelock shoots in looking for a takedown. Kelly tries to sprawl out of it but Whitelock keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kelly manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Whitelock misses with a takedown attempt - Kelly sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kelly stuns Whitelock with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Whitelock tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kelly paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kelly throws a sloppy head kick
and Whitelock counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kelly is trying to stand.

Whitelock not doing much here.
Kelly is trying to get back to full guard.
Whitelock wants to control but Kelly is keeping him busy.
Kelly tries to roll over but Whitelock keeps him under control.
Whitelock is looking for a kimura here.
Whitelock prevents Kelly from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tim Whitelock will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kelly's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Whitelock rushes Kelly and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Whitelock as Kelly tries to tie him up.
Kelly tries to pull guard but Whitelock holds him up against the cage and eventually Kelly drops back down to his feet.
Kelly is leaning against Whitelock and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Kelly breaks from the clinch.
Kelly throws a sloppy head kick and Whitelock moves out of range easily.
Kelly tries a head kick but it misses.
Whitelock keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelly throws the left hand but Whitelock avoids the punch easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Whitelock shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kelly is trying to control the position but Whitelock postures up.

Kelly is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Whitelock trying to control the position from guard on top but Kelly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kelly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Whitelock is one step ahead there.
Kelly is working an open guard so Whitelock takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Whitelock feints and then cracks Kelly's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kelly down.
Kelly takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kelly gets caught flat footed, as Whitelock shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kelly wants to control the position but Whitelock says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Kelly is trying to control but Whitelock manages to pass to mount!
Whitelock working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Kelly looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Whitelock! Submission of the night perhaps?
