Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean O Malley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sean O Malley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Serra!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serra will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A right-left combo lands from Serra.


It looks like Sean O Malley has been cut.
O Malley dives in and grabs Serra's left leg, looking for a takedown. Serra pushes down on O Malley's head and hops out.
Serra looks to score with a jab to the body but O Malley is just out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Serra. No joy for O Malley on that attempt.
Serra throws out a loose jab but O Malley uses good head movement to avoid it.

O Malley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Serra has his feet on O Malley's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

O Malley shoots in looking for a takedown. Serra tries to sprawl out of it but O Malley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Serra manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
O Malley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Serra tries to avoid it but O Malley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Serra to the ground. Serra escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
O Malley fails in his attempt to clinch.
O Malley takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
O Malley looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Serra throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

O Malley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Serra as he avoids it easily.
Serra takes a swing at O Malley's ribcage but misses.
O Malley uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Serra.

O Malley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Serra was covering up waiting for the punch and O Malley finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Serra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with O Malley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

O Malley decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Serra avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

O Malley misses with a takedown attempt - Serra sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

O Malley closes the distance and clinches up with Serra, looking for a takedown. O Malley pushes Serra against the cage but Serra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

O Malley shoots in looking for a takedown. Serra tries to sprawl out of it but O Malley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Serra manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sean O Malley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Serra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Serra wants it to stay on the feet.
O Malley swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Serra connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Serra ducks down and throws a hook to the body but O Malley moves away.
Serra lands a nice looking body shot.

and Serra counters with a two punch combo.
Serra connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Serra bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Matt Serra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


O Malley works over Serra's head and body with a nice combination.
Serra rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but O Malley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and O Malley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
