Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Rogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Northman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Northman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Rogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Northman!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogan is looking to clinch.
Rogan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Northman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogan but Rogan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rogan throws a nice head kick!
Northman shoots for a double leg takedown but Rogan sprawls well. He's pushed Northman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Northman takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Northman has a takedown stuffed.
Joe Rogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Northman.
Rogan wants to clinch up but Northman keeps it at a distance.

Rogan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Northman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Northman's back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rogan is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Northman defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Northman wants to control his opponent's hands but Rogan gets his hands free.

Rogan is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Northman is defending well though. Rogan let's go of the attempt for now.
Rogan is breathing heavily.
Northman breaks Rogan's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Northman stays in close to Rogan's body and controls the position.
Northman forces his way into half guard.
Rogan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Northman in particular looking to stall.

Rogan is trying to control but can't.
Northman passes to side control.
Northman slows the pace down.

Northman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Northman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Northman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Northman is staying tight to Rogan's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Northman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rogan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Northman content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Rogan is looking to reverse the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Eric Northman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rogan lands a head kick!
Northman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rogan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rogan stuffs the takedown attempt from Northman. Northman gets slowly back to his feet.
Rogan doesn't manage to clinch there - Northman circles away.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rogan tries to close the distance and clinch but Northman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Northman is breathing heavily.

Rogan tries to clinch but Northman is having none of it.

Rogan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Northman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Joe Rogan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Northman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rogan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Northman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rogan's guard now.

Rogan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rogan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Northman is one step ahead there.
Northman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rogan has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Northman doesn't defend quickly enough and Rogan has managed to lock this one up! Can Northman escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Rogan on a fantastic submission victory.
