Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santonio Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Santonio Holmes!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes looks to land a combination. Dean sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Holmes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dean tries to kick Holmes off but Holmes keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Holmes lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Holmes looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dean is looking to control Holmes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dean avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holmes trying to control the pace.
Dean really is a fat lump.
Dean keeping hold of Holmes's head, controlling as best he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dean is looking to improve his position.

Holmes decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Dean misses with a takedown attempt

and Holmes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dean trying to control but Holmes postures up.
Dean looks like he's trying to stand up.
Dean is breathing heavily.
Holmes passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Holmes controlling from mount.
I looks like Holmes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Holmes looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Dean on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dean tries to get out of the position.
Holmes content just to control the position here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dean knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Holmes on the ground.

You get the feeling that Dean really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Holmes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dean is looking to escape.
Holmes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dean kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Holmes controlling the pace for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dean is trying to escape the mount.
Holmes trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Holmes breaks from Dean's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dean bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santonio Holmes dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Dean throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Holmes.
Dean doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Holmes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dean's guard.

Holmes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dean looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Holmes passes into half guard.
Holmes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Holmes controlling the action here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Holmes works his foot free and advances to mount.
Holmes content just to control the position here.
Dean wants to hold on but Holmes pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dean taking shots to the head.
Dean is working to get back to half guard.
Dean takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Holmes lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Holmes looking to isolate an arm here. Dean doesn't see it coming and as Holmes extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Holmes!
