PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lak Risal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Lak Risal has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lak Risal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Al Blaze!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Risal bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Blaze's head backwards.
Blaze fails to land the takedown.
Risal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nice takedown defense from Risal. No joy for Blaze on that attempt.
Blaze slips a jab and a cross from Risal.
Blaze throws a push kick but Risal slaps the foot to one side.

Blaze closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Risal to the mat! Risal manages to get full guard.

Risal manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Blaze tries to lock up and control but Risal gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Risal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Blaze on the ground.
Blaze is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Risal is staying active.
Blaze is looking to improve his position but Risal isn't that keen on the idea.
Blaze is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Blaze tries to hold on but Risal pushes him away.
Blaze sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Blaze is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Risal pulls his head out easily.

Risal with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Blaze is trying to get back to full guard.
Risal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blaze keeps working.
Blaze lands a couple of sideways elbows.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Blaze is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Risal's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Risal's back!
Risal covering up well and avoiding damage.

Blaze is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Risal defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Al Blaze dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Blaze shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Lak Risal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Blaze.
Blaze will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Risal lands with a slapping head kick.
Blaze misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lak Risal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Blaze.

Risal lands a left and a right that send Blaze crashing to the mat, dazed. Risal thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Al Blaze has been cut.

Risal lands a jab-cross combination.
Risal connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Blaze's hands.
Risal throws a leg kick which misses Blaze's front leg but catches the back leg as Blaze tries to avoid it.
Risal throws a right and a left that Blaze avoids nicely.
Risal lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Risal scores with a head kick.
Blaze tries to score a power double leg takedown but Risal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blaze somewhat.
Risal scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Risal lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Blaze shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Risal as he jumps to the side.

Risal lands with a straight right. Blaze didn't see that one coming.
Risal cracks Blaze with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Blaze drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Blaze working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Risal can't keep his opponent in guard - Blaze advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Blaze is pressing down on Risal's thigh, looking to free his foot. Risal is holding on for now.
Risal is not content to let Blaze control the position.

Blaze throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Blaze trying to work for an americana but Risal has managed to regain full guard.
Blaze working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Risal wants to get back to his feet but Blaze is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Blaze bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Blaze is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Risal is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Risal on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Risal tries to get out of the position.

Risal is not content to let Blaze control the position.

Blaze tries for a kimura but Risal is defending well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lak Risal dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Al Blaze's cut.
That's time! Risal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Risal uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Blaze has time to react.
Risal darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Al Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blaze accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Risal wants to get back to his feet but Blaze is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Blaze is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Risal pulls Blaze in close to prevent any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Blaze drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Risal manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Blaze has Risal in his guard.
Blaze wants to sweep here but Risal controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blaze is trying to control the position but Risal postures up.
Blaze keeping moving, preventing Risal from controlling successfully.

Risal is posturing up here but Blaze has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Risal tries to roll out but it's too tight and Risal has to tap! Slick submission there by Blaze!
