Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between poo ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reynolds has chosen Fire and Rain as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ping misses with a hook. Reynolds ducked under it nicely. Reynolds feints and as ping raises his hands in defense, Reynolds changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Reynolds slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. ping wants to stand and escape but Reynolds is having none of it. Reynolds is looking to work some ground and pound but ping has wrist control. Reynolds landing with the ground and pound. Reynolds content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Reynolds prevents ping from getting back to his feet. Reynolds controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. ping is looking to stand up but Reynolds isn't so interested in that idea. Reynolds lands a couple of elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reynolds lands a couple of elbows. Reynolds slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. ping avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reynolds stays in close to ping's body and controls the position. Reynolds pushes down on ping's leg and manages to get into half guard. Reynolds stops ping from getting back to his feet.
Reynolds thows a huge punch but ping dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. ping knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reynolds on the ground. ping is trying to stand back up but Reynolds is controlling him
Reynolds thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed ping's head. Reynolds is looking to advance position but ping won't allow it. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Reynolds in particular looking to stall. ping is trying to stand.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Reynolds takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Reynolds uses his free foot to push down on ping's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for ping.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reynolds with good strikes from the mount here! Reynolds looking to finish ping with some ground and pound. This is bad for ping! ping is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
ping is in a horrible position here. Reynolds smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Reynolds takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. ping squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Reynolds landing punches. ping is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Reynolds sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Reynolds pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Reynolds tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Reynolds has ping pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. ping manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Reynolds gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. ping wants to stand and escape but Reynolds is having none of it. Reynolds throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as ping works some decent striking defense from the bottom. ping is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Reynolds dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. ping is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reynolds is controlling him well. ping takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Reynolds working the ground and pound from side control. Reynolds in side control, just content to control the action for now. Reynolds lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Reynolds in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Reynolds grinds an elbow into ping's temple. Reynolds cracks ping with a big elbow. Reynolds is putting a hurting on ping here, landing some big shots from side control. Reynolds landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Reynolds connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused ping some visible discomfort.
ping is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Reynolds has just dragged him back down to the mat. ping taking punishment in the form of punches.
Reynolds remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's three minutes gone in the round. ping takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
ping is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reynolds is controlling him well. Reynolds scoring with punches and elbows. ping seems a little lost for a moment, as Reynolds dominates the positioning. Rusty Reynolds has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Despite being in the dominant position, Rusty Reynolds just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Reynolds darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Reynolds stops ping from getting back to his feet.
Reynolds with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Reynolds is just content to waste time from the top position. ping takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Reynolds has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Reynolds is breathing heavily. Reynolds won't allow ping to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rusty Reynolds showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Reynolds creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Reynolds scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at ping to see if he's OK. ping is pushing Reynolds's head away, looking to escape. Reynolds manages to hold on to the position though. Reynolds lands a few punches from side control. Rusty Reynolds is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Reynolds misses with the ground and pound. Reynolds is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt ping will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Reynolds's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. ping is trying to get back to his feet. Reynolds controls the position from side control. Let's hope that Reynolds has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

And that's the end of the fight! Rusty Reynolds comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Reynolds has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
