Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Harrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suarez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Harrison sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mike Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harrison shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Harrison was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Suarez is looking to improve his position but Harrison isn't that keen on the idea. Suarez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Harrison stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Harrison pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Harrison fails with the takedown and Suarez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Harrison won't be happy with that. Suarez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Harrison has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Suarez but great work by Harrison. Suarez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Harrison's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Harrison is nestled in close to Suarez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harrison sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Suarez defending well though. Harrison is looking to take a break and control but Suarez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Suarez controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Suarez pushes Harrison off looking to stand but Harrison dives back in and keeps control.
Suarez wants to control but Harrison is keeping busy and won't allow it. Harrison is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Suarez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Harrison wants to stand but Suarez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Harrison prevents Suarez from improving his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Suarez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Suarez has an Americana. Harrison didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Suarez is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Suarez hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Angel Suarez!
