The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yardy with a jab. Wilson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Yardy shoots in for a takedown but Wilson shows good takedown defense. Wilson looks to score with a jab to the body but Yardy is just out of range. Danga de danga de dang - Yardy scores with a four punch combination! Wilson takes the fight into the clinch. Wilson putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Yardy in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Yardy jumps guard but Wilson stands there with Yardy around his waist. Yardy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Yardy fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Yardy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice body punch from Wilson - that landed with a thud.
Yardy pulls guard effortlessly. Wilson trying to control the position from guard on top but Yardy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yardy wants to sweep here but Wilson controlling him for the moment. Yardy keeping full guard, as Wilson tries to pass. Yardy working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wilson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson trying to control the position from guard on top but Yardy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wilson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Yardy keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully. Wilson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wilson won't allow Yardy to sweep him here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Wilson misses with a body shot.
Wilson wants to clinch. Wilson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Yardy stalks Wilson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wilson's face. Wilson staggers backwards, shaken. Wilson takes a swing at Yardy's ribcage but misses. Yardy shoots in but no luck this time. Wilson fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Yardy counters with a nice double leg into guard. Yardy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wilson is keeping the position for now. Yardy trying to control but Wilson is working from the bottom. Yardy prevents Wilson from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yardy is pushing down on Wilson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wilson is fighting to maintain full guard but Yardy has managed to sneak the leg through. Wilson is looking for a sweep. Yardy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Yardy is looking to take a break and control but Wilson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Yardy trying to pass the guard but Wilson defending well. Yardy is keen to just control but Wilson is a slippery customer.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yardy throws a series of strikes that have Wilson backpedaling.

and Yardy counters with a three punch combo that has Wilson backing up. Wilson nods at Yardy to acknowledge the strikes. Wilson looks gassed! Wilson ducks right into an uppercut from Yardy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson wants to clinch but Yardy slips to the side and Yardy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Yardy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Yardy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wilson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Yardy thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Wilson to regain full guard. Wilson is trying to keep Yardy in close.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yardy misses with a head shot. Wilson uses the momentum to regain guard. Yardy wants to pass the guard but Wilson is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Yardy dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Wilson misses with a shot to the body and Yardy counters with a series of strikes. Wilson will be more careful next time no doubt. Yardy connects with a jab. Wilson throws a predictable looking body shot
and Yardy counters with a shoot takedown. Wilson fights it but they end up in guard. Yardy tries to free his leg and advance position but Wilson is retaining full guard. Wilson can't keep his opponent in guard - Yardy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Yardy works his foot free and advances to mount. Wilson is looking to improve his position but Yardy isn't that keen on the idea. Yardy with a couple of short strikes. Wilson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson blocking the ground and pound. Yardy jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Wilson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Wilson and Yardy has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Yardy is looking to take a break and control but Wilson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Yardy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Wilson dodges the ground and pound from Yardy. Wilson wants to get back to his feet. An elbow from Yardy crashes against the mat.
You can see the frustration on Wilson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wilson tries to buck Yardy off but Yardy is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Yardy circles away from the clinch attempt and Yardy counters with a series of strikes. Wilson will be more careful next time no doubt. Dan Yardy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wilson tries to land a body kick and Yardy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Wilson wants to clinch but Yardy slips to the side and Yardy counters with a shoot takedown. Wilson fights it but they end up in guard. Yardy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Yardy thows a big elbow that misses. Wilson is trying to control the position but Yardy postures up. Yardy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Yardy is looking to work some ground and pound but Wilson has wrist control. Wilson keeping moving, preventing Yardy from controlling successfully. Yardy pushing down on Wilson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Yardy throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Wilson works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Yardy works his way into side control. Yardy is chipping away with strikes.
Yardy just content to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Yardy dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Yardy defending well as Wilson loads up on a big left hand. Yardy takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wilson throws a leg kick so Yardy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wilson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yardy. Yardy is looking to work some ground and pound but Wilson has wrist control. Yardy looking to pass the guard. Yardy works a leg free and moves into half guard. Yardy sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Wilson defending well though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yardy moves into full mount! Wilson won't be happy about that!
That's one minute gone in the round. Yardy dominating with strikes here. Wilson tries to hold on but Yardy pushes him away. Wilson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Yardy punching from mount but Wilson doing a good job of avoiding damage. Yardy with shots to the head and body - Wilson looks very uncomfortable down there. Dan Yardy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wilson really wants to buck Yardy off and get back to his feet. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Yardy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Yardy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Yardy dominating with strikes here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson is squirming around, avoiding Yardy's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yardy landing strikes from the mount and Wilson is in trouble! Wilson wants to hold on but Yardy pushes him away. Yardy scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Dan Yardy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Yardy lands a big shot there that rocks Wilson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Yardy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson is in a horrible position here. Yardy smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Yardy controlling from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Yardy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yardy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
