Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joash Edman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santos comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ha Ha (Slow Down) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Richard Santos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joash Edman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Santos! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Edman. Edman obviously looking to wear him down.
Edman wants to clinch up but Santos keeps it at a distance. Edman looks to land a body kick but Santos moved away. Santos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Edman swivels and escapes. Edman connects with a right hand. Santos shakes it off. The fight stays on the outside here - Edman looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Edman is looking to clinch. Edman tries to clinch but Santos moves out of range. Edman scores with a push kick. Edman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Santos's sensitive parts. Santos looks for a takedown but Edman sprawls well. Edman scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Santos is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edman stands up from half guard. Santos on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Edman moves into the clinch. Santos fails to pull guard.
Joash Edman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Santos. Santos is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Edman pulls him back up using the underhooks. Santos looks gassed! Edman lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Edman breaks the clinch.
Santos takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Edman lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Santos backs up against the cage.
Edman lands a jab-cross combination. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Edman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Edman stands up.

Edman works Santos's body with a nice hook. Edman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Edman scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Edman decides to stand and escape the position. The fight moves into the clinch position.

Santos tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Edman manages to break the clinch.
Edman is looking to clinch but Santos is avoiding it.
Santos scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Santos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Edman is just riding it out for now. Santos eventually gives up the hold. Edman wants to control but Santos is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos not landing any meaningful shots this time. Santos sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Edman defending well though. Santos in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Edman tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Santos!
