Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yankee Doodle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doodle has chosen Miss You as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yankee Doodle!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doodle shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Murray tries to get to full guard but Doodle has control of the leg.
Murray holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doodle lands with a punch from half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Doodle is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Murray is trying to stand back up but Doodle is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doodle drops an elbow to the side of Murray's head.
Doodle is looking to advance position but Murray won't allow it.
Doodle looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Murray with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Doodle wants to take a breather but Murray is having none of it.
Murray tries to roll over but Doodle keeps him under control.
Doodle is stalling here. Murray is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Doodle seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Murray has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Murray throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Murray stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Murray doesn't manage to clinch there - Doodle circles away.

Doodle pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Doodle cracks Murray with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Murray is controlling Doodle's trapped leg to prevent Doodle from advancing to side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Murray is staying active underneath Doodle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Murray tries to kick Doodle off but Doodle keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Murray postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Doodle to stand up.

Murray manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Doodle manages to get himself to full guard.

Gerard Murray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yankee Doodle.
Doodle is pressed up against the cage. Murray has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Doodle down to the mat. Doodle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Doodle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murray swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gerard Murray.
I think Doodle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
