The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Szkorpion looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for kussen!
Szkorpion trying to control but kussen is having none of it.
kussen regains half guard.
Szkorpion seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but kussen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Szkorpion sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed kussen's guard.

Well, if Szkorpion is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
kussen tries to kick Szkorpion off but Szkorpion keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Szkorpion is breathing heavily.

kussen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Szkorpion pulls his head out easily.
kussen is looking for a sweep. Szkorpion is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
kussen pushes Szkorpion off looking to stand but Szkorpion dives back in and keeps control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
kussen lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Szkorpion backs up against the cage.
Szkorpion looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

kussen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Szkorpion has managed to free his arm - good work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
kussen wants to control but Szkorpion is keeping him busy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
kussen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Szkorpion paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Szkorpion ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

kussen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Szkorpion circles away quickly and effectively.

kussen dives in and grabs Szkorpion's left leg, looking for a takedown. Szkorpion pushes down on kussen's head and hops out.

Szkorpion works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

kussen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Szkorpion's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Szkorpion lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Szkorpion obliges.
