Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tiger Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Monkeys of War. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali ! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Koothrappali defends it nicely. Lee has a takedown stuffed. Koothrappali fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Koothrappali is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Koothrappali circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tiger Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Koothrappali displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee. Koothrappali has his takedown stuffed and Lee counters with a nice double leg into side control. Koothrappali won't be happy with that. Lee is chipping away with strikes.

Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tiger Lee dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Lee drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Lee lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lee trying to control but Koothrappali is working from the bottom. Lee working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Koothrappali 's head. Koothrappali looking for a guillotine here but Lee defends easily.

Lee advances position into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee is chipping away with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koothrappali tries to escape but Lee is in control. Lee lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Koothrappali down.
Koothrappali can't do much from the bottom here. Lee lands a nice forearm strike. Koothrappali is breathing heavily. Koothrappali manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lee tries to get out of the position. Koothrappali wants to get up but he can't break Lee's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Lee keeping moving, preventing Koothrappali from controlling successfully. Koothrappali passes into half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Koothrappali is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lee gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Koothrappali counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Lee keeps the fight on the outside. Lee scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Lee lands a few punches from side control. Lee is putting a hurting on Koothrappali here, landing some big shots from side control. Koothrappali tries to buck Lee off but Lee is having none of it. Lee is chipping away with strikes.

Koothrappali will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Koothrappali is looking to clinch but Lee is avoiding it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lee tries for a takedown but Koothrappali sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Koothrappali looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Koothrappali doesn't manage to clinch there - Lee circles away.
Koothrappali closes the distance and clinches up with Lee, looking for a takedown. Koothrappali pushes Lee against the cage but Lee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Tiger Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lee has his takedown stuffed so Koothrappali counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Lee kicks Koothrappali off and gets to his feet. Lee fails with the takedown and Koothrappali counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Koothrappali shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tiger Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Koothrappali wants to clinch. Lee gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Koothrappali counters with a series of strikes. Lee will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tiger Lee. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
