Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, bob welmers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ishuzak Abarukas!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
welmers moves in looking to clinch but Abarukas pushes him off.
Abarukas lands the left hand.
Abarukas lands a jab to welmers's midsection.
welmers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
welmers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ishuzak Abarukas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abarukas stuffs the takedown attempt from welmers. welmers gets slowly back to his feet.
welmers steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Abarukas.
welmers throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A punch lands to the side of welmers 's head but he takes it in his stride.
welmers shoots in but no luck this time.
Abarukas lands with an overhand left.
welmers fails to land with a series of punches.
Abarukas misses with a hook.
A punch combination from Abarukas misses.
A lazy left from Abarukas finds it's target.
welmers looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Abarukas moves into range and clinches up with welmers.
That's one minute gone in the round.
welmers looking to slow down the pace here.
welmers has Abarukas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Abarukas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for bob welmers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
welmers tries to pull guard but Abarukas holds him up against the cage and eventually welmers drops back down to his feet.
welmers wants a takedown but no success here.
welmers goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Abarukas stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Abarukas managing to block the knees to the body from welmers.
Abarukas has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
welmers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Abarukas closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Abarukas lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends welmers sprawling to the canvas. Abarukas follows him down, looking for the kill. Can welmers hang on?
welmers is rocked!
welmers is breathing heavily.
Abarukas stands up out of the half guard.
Oh welmers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Abarukas gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
welmers seems to have got his legs back now.
welmers working hard to break the clinch.
welmers has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Abarukas is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Abarukas tries to circle away but welmers has him pinned against the cage.
Abarukas has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
welmers tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Abarukas smiles and moves away.
Abarukas connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed welmers momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
welmers takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nice uppercut there from Abarukas.
Abarukas misses with a series of wild punches.
Abarukas lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Abarukas lands a jab to the nose.
Abarukas throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh welmers colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Abarukas as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and welmers is left battered and dazed whilst Abarukas and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ishuzak Abarukas!
