Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Cavalera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike McKinley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cavalera might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Territory. McKinley has chosen Swing That Tambourine as his entrance music. Max Cavalera had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Cavalera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike McKinley! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cavalera rushes McKinley and presses him up against the cage. McKinley has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Cavalera is trying to keep an underhook but McKinley manages to get the takedown into half guard. McKinley is trying to control. Cavalera wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McKinley connects with a nice short shot to Cavalera's temple. McKinley prevents Cavalera from improving his position. McKinley missing with the ground and pound from half guard. McKinley trying to control from half guard but Cavalera is working away. McKinley is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Cavalera keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
McKinley throwing strikes here but Cavalera is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
McKinley is working for a guillotine from mount but Cavalera frees his head quite easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Cavalera can't escape the position.

McKinley can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cavalera is looking to escape. McKinley throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
McKinley tries to control but Cavalera wriggling away. Cavalera is in all sorts of trouble here.
Cavalera is working hard here to advance position. Cavalera manages to regain half guard. Good work. McKinley seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. McKinley drops an elbow to the side of Cavalera's head. McKinley thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. McKinley not landing any meaningful shots this time. Cavalera regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from McKinley. McKinley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cavalera is breathing heavily. McKinley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cavalera has his foot on McKinley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McKinley works his way back into a safe position though. McKinley gets to his feet. Cavalera looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A head kick from McKinley lands but Cavalera takes it in his stride. McKinley fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cavalera sprawls well initially but McKinley persists and gets the takedown into half guard. McKinley throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like McKinley is going to stand back up.
Cavalera gets full guard. McKinley wants to control from the top but Cavalera keeps moving. McKinley advances to half guard. Cavalera keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. McKinley thows a huge punch but Cavalera dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McKinley not landing any meaningful shots this time. McKinley is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Cavalera is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McKinley pulls his head out easily. McKinley is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cavalera is just riding it out for now. McKinley eventually gives up the hold. McKinley trying to control from half guard but Cavalera is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. McKinley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. McKinley shoots in looking for a takedown. Cavalera tries to sprawl out of it but McKinley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cavalera manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Cavalera circles away from the clinch attempt.
McKinley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cavalera defends it nicely. McKinley scores a takedown into full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cavalera avoids a series of strikes thrown by McKinley.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike McKinley dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Excellent takedown into side control there by McKinley. McKinley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. McKinley sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cavalera is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cavalera is looking to reverse the position. Cavalera sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. McKinley tries to stand but can't do so whilst Cavalera controls his leg. Cavalera is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cavalera actively working from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cavalera stuffs the takedown attempt from McKinley. McKinley gets slowly back to his feet. Mike McKinley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McKinley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cavalera defends it nicely. McKinley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. McKinley tries for a takedown but Cavalera circles away easily and Cavalera counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McKinley's guard now. Max Cavalera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike McKinley. McKinley working a defensive guard here.
Cavalera drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McKinley manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cavalera has McKinley in his guard. Cavalera is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McKinley defends well. McKinley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. McKinley drops back looking for a leg! Cavalera is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cavalera manages to kick McKinley off! McKinley jumps back into Cavalera's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cavalera has his feet on McKinley's thighs here. He's pushed McKinley off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! McKinley screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
