Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Paul Jackson enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mendez is on top in guard.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mendez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mendez wants to finish this one by submission but Jackson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mendez.
Jackson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Jackson gets to his feet. Mendez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Jackson looks gassed!

Jackson wants to clinch up but Mendez keeps it at a distance.

Mendez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mendez connects with a nice short shot to Jackson's temple.
Jackson is trying to get back to full guard.

Mendez is looking for a kimura here.
Mendez is keen to just control but Jackson is a slippery customer.

Mendez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jackson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mendez.

Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mendez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like Paul Jackson has been cut.

Jackson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Mendez off and cradles Jackson's limp body as Mendez celebrates with his corner.
