Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Navarro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conan Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Oscar Navarro!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Conan Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Navarro misses with a few strikes there.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jones goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Navarro is on top in guard.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Navarro pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Navarro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Navarro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Navarro chips away with some ground and pound.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Navarro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Navarro postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Navarro, into his guard.

Navarro is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jones is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Navarro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Navarro sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Navarro is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea.

Jones is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Navarro has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Navarro!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Navarro.
Navarro takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jones goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Navarro's waist but Navarro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Navarro throws out the jab.

Jones has managed to clinch.

Jones looks up at the clock and then as Navarro takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Navarro sees it coming and defends easily.

Jones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Navarro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Navarro is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Navarro has escaped and now he's on top!
Navarro wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Navarro defends well.

Conan Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A punch lands to the side of Jones 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jones checks a leg kick.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jones tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Navarro gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Navarro is trying to get back to full guard.

Jones postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Navarro in real trouble here! The ref calls for Navarro to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Conan Jones!
