Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Wilkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caio Angelis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Wilkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caio Angelis!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angelis shoots in and drives through. Wilkins sprawls well.

Angelis moves into range and clinches up with Wilkins.
Wilkins is pressed up against the cage. Angelis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wilkins down to the mat. Wilkins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Angelis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Angelis wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Wilkins uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Angelis postures up in Wilkins's guard and throws a big left but Wilkins blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Angelis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wilkins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Angelis, into his guard.

Angelis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wilkins defends it easily.
Angelis is trying to control the position but Wilkins postures up.
Angelis wants to stand and escape but Wilkins is having none of it.

Angelis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wilkins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wilkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Angelis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Wilkins doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Angelis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Angelis.
Wilkins is trying to drag Angelis to the mat but Angelis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Wilkins drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Angelis gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Wilkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wilkins gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Angelis.
Wilkins has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Angelis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Angelis is trying to trip Wilkins. He has hold of a leg but Wilkins is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Angelis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Wilkins controls Angelis momentarily but Angelis frees himself.

Angelis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wilkins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wilkins has escaped and now he's on top!

Wilkins wants to control from the top but Angelis keeps moving.
Angelis wants to stand and escape but Wilkins is having none of it.

Angelis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Wilkins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Wilkins wants to control from the top but Angelis keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Angelis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Angelis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Angelis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wilkins!
Wilkins bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Wilkins drops back looking for a leg! Angelis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Angelis manages to kick Wilkins off! Wilkins jumps back into Angelis's guard.

Angelis wants to get back to his feet but Wilkins drags him back down.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee warns Wilkins that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Angelis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wilkins has worked his arm free - good work by Wilkins!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Wilkins will probably get the nod.

Angelis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wilkins sprawls well initially but Angelis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Angelis is looking to improve his position but Wilkins isn't that keen on the idea.
Angelis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Angelis stops Wilkins from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Wilkins.
I think Wilkins has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
