The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Resina throws a nice looking combination but McCormick bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Resina feints and as McCormick raises his hands in defense, Resina changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Resina has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Resina wanted to stand there but McCormick had control of the position.

Resina tries to score a power double leg takedown but McCormick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Resina somewhat.

McCormick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Resina has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McCormick has managed to get both his arms back between Resina's legs - danger averted.

McCormick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Resina can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jonas Resina.
Well Resina has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
