And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. rivera defends it nicely.
Rodriguez shoots in but rivera avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
rivera sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
rivera tries to roll over but Rodriguez keeps him under control.
rivera looks gassed!

rivera is positioning himself well to prevent Rodriguez advancing to mount.
rivera is trying to maintain the position but Rodriguez is very close to passing his half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rodriguez wants to stand up but rivera has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are battling for position here. rivera manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

rivera is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rodriguez dives into side control.
rivera tries to buck Rodriguez off but Rodriguez is having none of it.
Rodriguez is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. rivera looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rodriguez gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. rivera is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rodriguez lets go of the hold and rivera can pop his arm back in it's socket.
