Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spike Callan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Travik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Callan comes to the cage accompanied by Smackdown by TFK. Spike Callan had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Travik throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Callan was covering up waiting for the punch and Travik finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Callan keeping moving, preventing Travik from controlling successfully.
Callan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Travik slips nicely into half guard.

Travik is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Callan defends it well.

Travik lands a left and a right that send Callan crashing to the mat, dazed. Travik thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Spike Callan has been cut.
Travik looks to land a combination but Callan avoids it well.
Travik tries to close the distance and clinch up but Callan swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Travik shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Callan napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Travik drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Travik is trying to get an arm triangle but Callan is defending well.
Travik remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Travik feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Travik has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
