Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slater BearWulf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Slater BearWulf!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BearWulf throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around King's waist but King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing BearWulf off to one side.
BearWulf looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

King closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming BearWulf to the mat! BearWulf manages to get full guard.
King trying to control but BearWulf is working from the bottom.
King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. BearWulf swivels though and keeps the full guard.
King is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King thows a big elbow that misses.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but BearWulf is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
King trying to stand up but can't free himself from BearWulf's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
BearWulf utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
King darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
King wants to take a breather but BearWulf is having none of it.

King is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
It looks like King is going to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King trying to control from half guard but BearWulf is working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
King is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because BearWulf is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
King throws a series of strikes that have BearWulf backpedaling.
King throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

King shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
King pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. BearWulf is keeping the position for now.
King in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael King dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


King lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

King shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than King was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
King is in the full mount, landing strikes.
King trying to control but BearWulf is having none of it.
Poor strikes thrown by King there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
BearWulf is breathing heavily.

King working away from the top, dropping strikes.
King looking to ground and pound but BearWulf is blocking nicely.

King looking to secure an arm triangle but BearWulf defends it well.
King can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as BearWulf is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

King with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

King lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

King wants to control the pace but BearWulf is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
King throwing strikes here but BearWulf is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
King trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael King dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



King changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. BearWulf looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
BearWulf is not content to let King control the position.
King tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
BearWulf takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
King trying to control the action but BearWulf is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

King thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ground and pound from King seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
BearWulf seems a little lost for a moment, as King dominates the positioning.
King wants to stand but BearWulf is controlling his arm.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

King shoots in and bounces BearWulf off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
BearWulf has a closed guard, preventing King from standing up.
Slater BearWulf has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King tries to free his leg and advance position but BearWulf is retaining full guard.
King wants to control from the top but BearWulf keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
King trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
King is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
King postures up in BearWulf's guard and throws a big left but BearWulf blocks it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
BearWulf keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well King has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
