Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raul Meirelles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Givens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Givens has chosen LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Givens!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Givens throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Givens.
Meirelles takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Givens remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Meirelles is trying to get back to half guard.
Givens is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Meirelles could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
I looks like Givens might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Givens is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Meirelles's shoulder. That is not cool.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Meirelles wants to clinch but Givens slips to the side
and Givens counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Meirelles drops down looking for an ankle pick but Givens pulls his leg out and moves away.
Givens fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Meirelles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Givens as he avoids it easily.

and Givens moves into the clinch.
Meirelles lands a body shot in the clinch.
Meirelles tries to score a body lock takedown but Givens shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raul Meirelles. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Givens is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Meirelles rolls with it to try and escape but Givens cranks on the arm and Meirelles is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
