Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Annoited Blade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aladin Carpet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carpet comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Requiem for a Dream Remix - Clint Mansell kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Annoited Blade! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aladin Carpet! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blade tries to keep at a distance but Carpet has taken the fight into the clinch. Blade takes a knee to the side of the body. Carpet misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Blade.
Carpet is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Blade is defending well for now. Blade jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carpet walks away with a smile on his face. Blade gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Carpet misses the shot to the body. Blade will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carpet scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Carpet scoring with strikes to the body and head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blade tries to kick Carpet off but Carpet keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Blade avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carpet. Blade tries to get to full guard but Carpet has control of the leg. Carpet has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Carpet not doing much here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Blade is looking for a sweep. Carpet is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Blade slips under a jab from Carpet. Blade darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Carpet is doing well to control the position and prevent Blade from advancing to side control. Blade seems to be looking for submissions.
Blade is breathing heavily. Carpet gets full guard. Carpet has his hands on Blade's head, controlling the position. Blade really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carpet bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blade's guard. Carpet tries to free his leg and advance position but Blade is retaining full guard. Blade tries to land a sweep but no joy. Carpet postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Blade preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Carpet thows a big elbow that misses. Blade preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Carpet lands a couple of digs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carpet is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Carpet throwing strikes from guard but Blade blocks nicely. Carpet with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Carpet trying to control but Blade is working from the bottom. Carpet content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Carpet stays in close to Blade's body and controls the position. Carpet lands a couple of elbows. Carpet slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Carpet makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carpet lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Carpet sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Blade's guard. Carpet is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Carpet is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Carpet is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Blade is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Carpet scores with a couple of nice shots. Carpet prevents Blade from improving his position. Carpet lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aladin Carpet dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Carpet throws a left and a right that both miss
and Blade connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Good work by Blade as he checks the leg kick. Carpet takes a swing at Blade's ribcage but misses. Carpet throws an overhand right that lands on Blade's shoulder, as Blade tries to avoid the shot. Carpet misses with a double jab.
Blade uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carpet.
Carpet closes the distance and pushes Blade back into the cage. Carpet lands a nice knee to the body. Carpet dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Blade pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Annoited Blade is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carpet digs a good hook to Blade's body.

The fighters circling - Carpet throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Carpet fails to land with a series of punches.
Annoited Blade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carpet throws a big shot that misses. A swing and a miss from Carpet. A good leg kick by Carpet. Carpet misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carpet scores with the left hand. Blade knows he should have avoided that one. Carpet thuds his shin into the meat of Blade's side. Carpet digs a good hook to Blade's body.

Blade ducks under a wild hook from Carpet. Blade gets caught flat footed, as Carpet shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Carpet not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Blade wants to sweep here but Carpet controlling him for the moment. Carpet lands a couple of elbows. Carpet slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Carpet cracks Blade with a big right hand but Blade just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Carpet connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Blade some visible discomfort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blade takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Carpet is trying to get an arm triangle but Blade is defending well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carpet scores with punches from side control. Carpet landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Carpet scoring with punches and elbows. Blade tries to buck Carpet off but Carpet is having none of it. Carpet happy to just control the position for now. Blade is trying to improve his position. Carpet in side control lands a decent elbow. Carpet scoring with punches from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carpet taking a breather here. Carpet landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Carpet creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Carpet working the head with strikes. The referee asks Carpet politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Carpet prefers to stall for the moment though. Carpet looks up at the clock and then as Blade takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Carpet smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Blade being controlled for a moment. Blade is pushing Carpet's head away, looking to escape. Carpet manages to hold on to the position though. Blade is trying to escape the position but Carpet is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carpet scores with punches from side control. A lull in the action here as Carpet stalls from top position. Check out the look on Carpet's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Aladin Carpet has got the better of the ground game so far. Blade is not content to let Carpet control the position. Carpet scoring with punches and elbows. Carpet is working to tighten is grip on Blade's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Blade has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Carpet is really squeezing tight and eventually Blade passes out! Carpet breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
