Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, George Seryogin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mishka Palov!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palov throws a leg kick but Seryogin sees it coming and moves out of range.
Seryogin fails to land the takedown.

Palov rushes Seryogin and presses him up against the cage.

Palov manages to break the clinch.
Seryogin shoots for a double leg takedown but Palov sprawls well. He's pushed Seryogin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Seryogin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Palov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Palov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Palov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Palov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Palov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Palov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Seryogin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Palov has Seryogin in his guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Palov tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Palov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Seryogin won't allow Palov to sweep him here.

Palov is looking to advance position but Seryogin has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Seryogin wants to control the pace but Palov is squirming around nicely.
Palov tries to hold on but Seryogin pushes him away.

Seryogin seems a little lost for a moment, as Palov dominates the positioning.

Palov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Seryogin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Seryogin!

Seryogin wants to control from the top but Palov keeps moving.
Palov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Palov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Seryogin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Palov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Palov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Palov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Seryogin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Seryogin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Palov to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Palov wants to stand and escape but instead Seryogin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Seryogin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Palov is keeping the position for now.
Palov pulls Seryogin in close to his closed guard and prevents Seryogin from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Seryogin wants to control from the top but Palov keeps moving.
Palov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well Palov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
