Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sousa has chosen Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 - Batucada as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adam Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Sousa! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sousa dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Sousa slips under a jab from Jones. Jones wants to clinch. Jones swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sousa. Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch. Sousa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jones connects with a knee to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sousa drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Sousa throws a low kick but Jones avoids it. Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Sousa on the wrong end of a nice jab. Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Horrible takedown by Sousa or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad. Jones throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A punch combination from Jones misses. Jones lands a jab-cross combination. Sousa tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sousa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sousa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jones, who protects the arm well. Sousa throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Sousa trying to control the position but Jones is working away. Sousa passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Jones! Jones is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Sousa wants to finish this one by submission but Jones is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sousa. Jones bucks Sousa off and manages to get back to his feet! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones throws a right and a left that both miss. Sousa moves forwards but Jones connects with a nice, crisp jab. Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sousa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a nice looking combination but Sousa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jones is looking to clinch. Sousa shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Adam Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Sousa. Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones scores with a shot to the body.
Sousa looks gassed! Jones connects with a single shot there. Jones lands an overhand right. Jones misses with a looping left. Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Jones is looking to clinch. Jones wants to clinch up but Sousa keeps it at a distance. Jones lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Sousa slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to clinch but Sousa is having none of it. Sousa moves forwards but Jones connects with a nice, crisp jab. Sousa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes. Sousa staying out of range there. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sousa swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jones scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jones is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Sousa on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Jones tries to clinch up but Sousa circles away and keeps his distance. Jones pushes Sousa up against the cage in a clinch. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Jones scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sousa dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Jones dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jones tries to clinch but Sousa moves out of range. Jones clinches with his opponent.
Sousa changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Sousa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sousa swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones. Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Adam Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones wants to clinch up but Sousa keeps it at a distance. The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. The fight stays on the outside here - Sousa looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sousa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones wants to stand but Sousa is controlling the position. Sousa trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Jones keeping full guard, as Sousa tries to pass. Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sousa on the ground. Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sousa passes into half guard. Jones is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sousa is pressing down on Jones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jones is holding on for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sousa gets a takedown into half guard. Sousa is breathing heavily. Sousa throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to stand up here but Sousa is controlling him well. Sousa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well. Sousa prevents Jones from standing back up.

Jones manages to escape and get back to his feet! Jones cracks Sousa with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Jones lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Sousa tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage. Sousa has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Adam Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Sousa.

Jones pushes Sousa back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Jones breaks from the clinch.
Sousa shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Adam Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones connects with a nice looking jab.
Jones scores with a jab. Sousa takes a body punch but keeps moving. Sousa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sousa slips a jab from Jones. Sousa takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Jones closes the distance and clinches.

Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sousa. Jones tries to clinch there but Sousa circles away.

Sousa ducks under a wild hook from Jones. Jones looks to land a combination but Sousa avoids it well. Sousa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sousa uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones. Adam Jones is winning the standup battle so far. Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Jones dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Sousa takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Jones lands with a thumping leg kick.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss. Adam Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jones with a jab. Mario Sousa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sousa on the side of the head. Jones clinches with his opponent.
Sousa drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to clinch but Sousa moves away and Sousa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard. Sousa trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Sousa won't allow Jones to get back to his feet. Jones keeping moving, preventing Sousa from controlling successfully. Sousa looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jones wants to stand but Sousa has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Jones throws a series of punches but Sousa moves out of range. Jones stuffs the takedown. Sousa shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Adam Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
