Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Austin Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saguru Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Austin Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saguru Takada!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels swats away the attempt to clinch by Takada.
Daniels wants to clinch up but Takada keeps it at a distance.
Daniels wants to clinch but Takada slips to the side

and Takada counters with a flying knee that sends his opponent to the canvas! Takada looking to finish!


Daniels is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Daniels has his foot on Takada's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Takada works his way back into a safe position though.
Oh Daniels is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Takada is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Daniels controls Takada momentarily but Takada frees himself.

Daniels looking for a guillotine here but Takada defends easily.
Daniels seems to have got his legs back now.
Takada stands and throws Daniels's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Daniels wants to control but Takada postures up.
Daniels manages to get back to half guard.

Takada is tying to control. Daniels wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Daniels makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Daniels.

Takada trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom.
Daniels bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Takada's guard.
Takada doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Daniels stands and throws Takada's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Daniels thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Takada's head.
Takada is trying to control but can't.

Takada really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Takada tries to kick Daniels off but Daniels keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Takada looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Takada closes the distance but Daniels moves to the side

and Daniels counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Daniels is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Takada tries to get to full guard but Daniels has control of the leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daniels takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Takada on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Daniels working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Daniels thows a huge punch but Takada dodges it nicely.

Takada tries to kick Daniels off but Daniels keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Daniels seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Daniels fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Takada checks it well.
Takada tries to clinch but Daniels is having none of it.

Daniels shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Takada's guard.
Takada is trying to control the position but Daniels postures up.

Takada tries to clinch up but Daniels circles away and keeps his distance.

Takada comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Takada throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Takada breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Takada tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Daniels is looking to land body kicks.
A head kick misses from Daniels.
Takada tries to clinch but Daniels moves out of range.
Austin Daniels is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Takada moves in looking to clinch but Daniels pushes him off.
Daniels avoids the head kick by Takada.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniels has knee on belly momentarily but Takada bucks him off and regains half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Takada on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Daniels wants to take a breather but Takada is having none of it.
Takada is trying to maintain the position but Daniels is very close to passing his half guard.

Daniels is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Takada is just riding it out for now. Daniels eventually gives up the hold.

Saguru Takada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daniels avoids the head kick by Takada.
Takada tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Daniels paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Daniels closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daniels lands in his opponent's guard.

Daniels drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Daniels jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Austin Daniels overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

BOOM! Daniels connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Takada is in a horrible position here. Daniels smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Daniels can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Takada is looking to escape.

Daniels has hold of Takada's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Takada manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Daniels is landing with some decent strikes but Takada is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Daniels wants to control the pace but Takada is squirming around nicely.

Austin Daniels showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Daniels, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
