Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robert Nester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Whizzer Oz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Nester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Whizzer Oz! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oz avoids the head kick by Nester.
Oz fails to land the takedown. Oz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nester manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Oz with a nice head shot there. Nester throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Oz connects with a couple of short punches. Oz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Oz stands up over Nester, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Oz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Oz postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Nester has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Oz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Oz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nester swivels though and keeps the full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nester is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nester landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nester trying to control the position from guard on top but Oz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nester missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Oz keeping full guard, as Nester tries to pass. Nester drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Oz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nester has Oz in his guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nester looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nester working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Oz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Oz lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Oz's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Oz chips away with some ground and pound. Oz with a nice head shot there. Oz lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Nester really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nester escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Nester is breathing heavily. Oz thows a big elbow that misses. Oz passes into half guard. Ground and pound from Oz. Oz is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Nester actively working from the bottom here. Nester has hold of Oz's hands but Oz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oz lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Ground and pound from Oz. Oz lands strikes from half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Nester is trying to stand back up but Oz is controlling him
Oz scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Oz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Oz lands with a punch from half guard. Oz slips a nice elbow through Nester's hands, connecting with Nester's forehead. Oz is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oz scoring with strikes to the body and head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Oz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nester with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Oz throwing shots but Nester is blocking nicely. Nester missing with punches from the bottom.
Nester landing a few short strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Whizzer Oz dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Oz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nester stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nester wants it to stay on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Oz. Nester slaps away a takedown attempt from Oz, before circling back to the center of the mat. Robert Nester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Whizzer Oz. A big left from Oz misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oz shoots for a takedown but Nester saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Oz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Oz there as he acknowledges the shot. Oz is breathing heavily. Nester connects with a good right hand that stumbles Oz. Oz circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nester stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nester wants it to stay on the feet. Oz throws a jab when Nester was well out of range. Oz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nester but Nester pushes him off and we're back to square one. Nester fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nester shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Oz pinned against the cage. Oz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nester looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Oz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nester throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Nester throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nester throwing shots but Oz is blocking nicely. Oz is trying to stand back up but Nester is controlling him
Nester is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oz pushes Nester off looking to stand but Nester dives back in and keeps control.
Nester thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Oz's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Oz fails to land the takedown. Nester tries to score a power double leg takedown but Oz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nester somewhat. Oz misses with a takedown attempt and Nester counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nester throws a combination. Oz tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Nester gets caught flat footed, as Oz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Oz working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Robert Nester dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Oz shoots in and bounces Nester off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Whizzer Oz has got the better of the ground game so far. Oz working some strikes from top position. Nester is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Oz stands and throws Nester's legs to the side, diving into side control. Oz grinds an elbow into Nester's temple. Oz lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Nester down.
Nester regains half guard. Oz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Oz lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Nester on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Nester is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Oz pulls his head out easily. Nester on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nester tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Nester is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Oz scores with a couple of nice shots. Oz scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Nester missing with punches from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Oz scores with a three punch combo!

Oz shoots and misses and Nester counters with a stiff right hand. Oz shoots and misses and Nester decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Oz's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Whizzer Oz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Oz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
