Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Factor but Factor pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ryan shoots in but no luck this time.
Factor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ryan throws out the jab.
Factor drives through and clinches with Ryan against the cage.
Ryan is trying to break free.
Ryan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ryan wants to clinch but Factor slips to the side
and Factor counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Factor throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ryan is trying to maintain the position but Factor is very close to passing his half guard.
Ryan tries to get to full guard but Factor has control of the leg.
Ryan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Still in half guard, Factor seems content to control.
Factor could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Factor is trying to control the action in half guard but Ryan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryan regains full guard. Nicely done.
Factor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ryan on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Factor can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ryan is looking to escape.

Ryan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Factor trying to control but Ryan is having none of it.
Factor avoids the attempt from Ryan to control.
Ryan regains half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Factor is trying to control. Ryan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ryan looks to land a combination. Factor sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Ryan scores with a nice strike.
Ryan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Factor makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ryan tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Factor counters with a solid body kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Factor.
Factor leaves Ryan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ryan tries to keep at a distance but Factor has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ryan is breathing heavily.
Factor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Factor has a takedown stuffed.
Richie Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Factor drives through and clinches with Ryan against the cage.

Factor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ryan uses from the top position.
Ryan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Factor is proving hard to escape from.
Factor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Ryan pulls Factor into guard.
Factor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Ryan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Factor has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Ryan scores with a jab to the head.
X Factor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ryan missing with a left hand there. Factor was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ryan closes the distance and clinches up with Factor, looking for a takedown. Ryan pushes Factor against the cage but Factor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Factor throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Factor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ryan avoids it really well and circles away.
Factor takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ryan throws his legs up looking for a submission but Factor uses it to pass to side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ryan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Ryan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Factor has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ryan but great work by Factor.
Ryan is looking to regain half guard here but Factor keeps moving and retains side control.
Factor is putting a hurting on Ryan here, landing some big shots from side control.
Ryan can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sloppy strikes there by Factor.
Ryan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Factor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Richie Ryan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ryan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for X Factor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Factor on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
X Factor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Richie Ryan.
Well Factor has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
