And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sean Cote!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobayashi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kobayashi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cote postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Cote tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Cote is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kobayashi's shoulder. That is not cool.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Cote stands up and beckons Kobayashi to his feet.
Cote cracks Kobayashi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Cote throws a series of punches but Kobayashi moves out of range.
Kobayashi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Good leg kick by Kobayashi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kobayashi clinches but Cote breaks the clinch
and Cote counters with a series of strikes. Kobayashi will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Cote dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Sean Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kobayashi feints and then cracks Cote's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cote down.

Kobayashi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Masato Kobayashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Crunch! Kobayashi slams his shin into Cote's torso.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cote holds on and takes a little breather.
Kobayashi tries to free his leg and advance position but Cote is retaining full guard.
Cote pulls Kobayashi in close to his closed guard and prevents Kobayashi from doing any damage or advancing position.
