Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Touchin Bungholz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, marcus davies! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! davies throws a series of punches but Bungholz moves out of range. Bungholz slips a jab and a cross from davies.
davies misses with the combination.
Bungholz shoots in looking for a takedown. davies tries to sprawl out of it but Bungholz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. davies manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. marcus davies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from davies misses. Bungholz dodges the punch combination from davies.
davies ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bungholz moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bungholz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from davies. Bungholz avoids a punch combination nicely.
davies throws a jab when Bungholz was well out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. davies throws a series of punches but Bungholz avoids them all with ease. davies keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bungholz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
davies misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
davies swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
davies misses with a few strikes there.
Bungholz throws a right and a left that both miss. davies misses with an uppercut. Bungholz saw that one coming. No joy there for davies, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
davies throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bungholz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Bungholz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. davies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bungholz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bungholz has hold of davies's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and davies manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
davies tries to hold on but Bungholz pushes him away. Bungholz throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! davies has his hands clasped together but Bungholz breaks the hold and davies is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Bungholz!
