PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naruto Uzumaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Naruto Uzumaki!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Uzumaki.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Uzumaki wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
Gracie is trying to strike from the bottom but Uzumaki has passed into full mount.
Gracie is trying desperately to improve position.
Uzumaki cracks Gracie with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Uzumaki trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Gracie regains half guard.

Gracie has his foot on Uzumaki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Uzumaki works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Uzumaki scores with a three punch combo!

Gracie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Uzumaki is defending well.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Uzumaki has one foot on Gracie's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Uzumaki doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gracie forces Uzumaki back against the cage and clinches.
Gracie gets through Uzumaki's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

It looks like Naruto Uzumaki has been cut.
Gracie lands an elbow just above Uzumaki 's eye.
Gracie lands a body shot in the clinch.
Uzumaki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gracie walks away with a smile on his face. Uzumaki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Uzumaki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gracie is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Uzumaki is trying to escape and Gracie transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Uzumaki is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gracie! Very nice indeed!
