1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chance Brisbell! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brisbell scores with a three punch combo!
It looks like Morris Borris has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brisbell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Borris gets underhooks to prevent Brisbell's takedown attempt.
Borris is trying to trip Brisbell. He has hold of a leg but Brisbell is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Borris persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Borris in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Brisbell looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Borris with a flurry of punches that miss. Brisbell working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Borris. Borris working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Borris postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Borris throws a big right hand that misses. Brisbell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Borris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Borris is looking to work some ground and pound but Brisbell has wrist control. Brisbell tries to strike from the bottom.

Brisbell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Borris won't allow Brisbell to sweep him here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brisbell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Borris stuffs the takedown attempt from Brisbell. Brisbell gets slowly back to his feet. Morris Borris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chance Brisbell. Borris blocks a head kick by Brisbell.
Brisbell throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Borris shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brisbell is trying to defend but Borris finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Brisbell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Borris is working away from the top position though. Borris is trying to work for a kimura but Brisbell is defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Borris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Brisbell throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Borris tries to keep at a distance but Brisbell has taken the fight into the clinch. Borris jumps guard but Brisbell stands there with Borris around his waist. Borris gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Borris looking to pass the guard. Brisbell being controlled here, momentarily. Brisbell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Borris looks like he's trying to stand up.
Brisbell not landing any meaningful shots this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Borris pushes Brisbell off looking to stand but Brisbell dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chance Brisbell dominated that round. The cut man is working on Morris Borris's cut. That's time! Borris's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Brisbell throws a head kick that misses. Borris misses with a takedown attempt and Brisbell counters with a two punch combo. Brisbell clinches. Borris is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Brisbell wants to break the clinch but can't.
Brisbell lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Brisbell has had enough of the clinch but Borris keeps him there for the moment. Brisbell wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Borris has him pressed against the cage. Brisbell tries to break the clinch but Borris is controlling the position. Brisbell pressing his opponent against the cage. Borris wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morris Borris. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brisbell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Brisbell jabs at Borris's body. This has been an exciting period of action! Brisbell paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Morris Borris's cut is getting worse. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brisbell throws a head kick that misses. Donk. Brisbell catches Borris right on the button with a cross.
Morris Borris's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Chance Brisbell seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brisbell connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Brisbell misses with a wild body shot. Brisbell tries to clinch but Borris is having none of it. Brisbell scores with a hook to the body. Borris takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Brisbell closes the distance and clinches. Borris is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Brisbell pulls him back up using the underhooks. Brisbell lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Brisbell is looking to break free of the clinch but Borris has double underhooks. Borris has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Brisbell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Brisbell blocking some punches.
Brisbell is working Borris over against the cage. Borris being controlled against the cage. Brisbell wants to get back to striking at distance but Borris won't allow it.
Borris prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brisbell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Brisbell fails to pull guard.
Borris has Brisbell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brisbell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Brisbell jumps guard.
Brisbell seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Brisbell looking for a sweep. Not yet Brisbell, not yet. Brisbell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Borris! Brisbell landing strikes, looking to finish!
Jeez, Morris Borris's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
