PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Diehl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrell Tombstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tombstone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Five Minutes Alone - Pantera. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tyrell Tombstone was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Diehl!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrell Tombstone!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tombstone shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Diehl as he avoids it easily.

Diehl darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Diehl passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tombstone!
Tombstone can't escape the position.
Tombstone tries to hold on but Diehl pushes him away.
Diehl punishing his opponent with strikes.

Diehl working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Tombstone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diehl gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tombstone has his foot on Diehl's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diehl works his way back into a safe position though.

Tombstone is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Tombstone is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Tombstone wants to stand but Diehl has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Diehl is trying to control the position but Tombstone postures up.

Diehl bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tombstone's guard.
Tombstone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diehl manages to get himself to full guard.

Diehl tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tombstone jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Diehl is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Diehl and Tombstone has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Diehl sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Diehl moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Tombstone has his feet on Diehl's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tombstone looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

You can see the frustration on Tombstone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Diehl postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tombstone looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Diehl looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Diehl is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Diehl!
