Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Havoc Dugre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dugre has chosen knock em out - bizarre as his entrance music. Havoc Dugre has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jake Shields's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields shoots in for a takedown but Dugre shows good takedown defense.
Dugre throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

so Shields counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dugre is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shields is aware though and is defending well.

Dugre gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shields to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Shields might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jake Shields overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shields cracks Dugre with a solid left hand.

Shields working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dugre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dugre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Shields is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Shields is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dugre can do to turn this around?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shields manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Shields has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dugre's face.
Shields goes for an armbar but Dugre turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dugre.

Dugre's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Shields has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
