Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Beane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Cades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Cades! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beane digs a good body shot into Cades's ribs. Beane takes a body punch but keeps moving. Donk. Beane catches Cades right on the button with a cross. Beane pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Cades throws a hook but Beane avoids it easily. Beane blocks a jab. Cades looks to land a right hand but Beane moved out of range. Beane drops Cades with a nice combination! Beane dives into Cades's guard, looking to finish!
It looks like Mike Cades has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Beane is looking to work some ground and pound but Cades has wrist control. Beane throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cades working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Beane. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Beane chips away with some ground and pound. Beane is working Cades over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cades throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Cades throws a lazy right hand but Beane sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cades ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Beane blocks a jab. A jab lands there for Cades.

Not much technique there but it did the business. Horrible takedown by Beane or perhaps it was just good defense by Cades which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Beane. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cades slips under a jab from Beane. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Beane lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Cades seems to have recovered his senses. Beane connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Cades tumbling to the canvas! Beane pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Cades was done - good stoppage!
