Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Bauer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thiago Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bauer throws a head kick that misses.

Bauer misses with a body shot.
Bauer tries to clinch up.
Bauer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Bauer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hansen won't be happy with that.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hansen tries to clinch up but Bauer circles away and keeps his distance.
Hansen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bauer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Bauer counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hansen!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bauer is persistently looking for the submission but Hansen is defending it well.
Will Bauer go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Hansen tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Hansen bucks Bauer off and manages to get back to his feet!

and Hansen counters with a three punch combo that has Bauer backing up. Bauer nods at Hansen to acknowledge the strikes.
Bauer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hansen swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hansen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bauer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hansen's guard.

Hansen is adopting a defensive guard.
Bauer won't allow Hansen to get back to his feet.
Bauer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Bauer shoots in for a double leg but Hansen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hansen wants to clinch up but Bauer keeps it at a distance.
Hansen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bauer did well to prevent Hansen getting side control.

Hansen gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Hansen closes the distance and pushes Bauer back into the cage.
Hansen drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bauer has Hansen pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bauer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hansen tumbling to the mat - Bauer dives into Hansen's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hansen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bauer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hansen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bauer has managed to get both his arms back between Hansen's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Still in half guard, Bauer seems content to control.

Bauer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hansen for as long as he can get away with.
Bauer is looking to pass Hansen's guard but actually Hansen recovers to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hansen is trying to maintain the position but Bauer is very close to passing his half guard.
Bauer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Thiago Hansen.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
