Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Eagles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnson Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Eagles had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Eagles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnson Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas gets a clinch.
Thomas leaning his opponent against the cage.
Eagles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Thomas misses with a takedown attempt - Eagles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Eagles shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Eagles won't be happy with that.
Thomas tries for a kimura but Eagles is defending well.
Eagles might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Eagles's face as Thomas controls the position.
Let's hope that Thomas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Thomas wants to control but Eagles is keeping him busy.

Thomas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Thomas looks up at the clock and then as Eagles takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Thomas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Eagles can't do much from the bottom here.
Eagles is breathing heavily.
Eagles is trying to escape the position but Thomas is controlling the position.
Eagles is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Thomas is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Thomas cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thomas looking to isolate an arm here. Eagles doesn't see it coming and as Thomas extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Thomas!
